All about health and wellbeing

Did you know there are around 20.000 Mushrooms species? Some of them are a high potential of medicinal mushrooms with special healing powers. The antibiotic ‘Penicillin’ for example is coming from mushrooms, discovered by Alexander Fleming around 1930.
Much of the knowledge about medicinal mushrooms is rooted in the traditional medicine of various cultures, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda. These cultures have kept their secrets and passed them on from generation to generation.
Western societies have long been skeptical of natural remedies and alternative medicine. As a result, less attention has been paid to the possible benefits of medicinal mushrooms. And also, regulations regarding nutritional supplements and medicines may vary from country to country. This affects the availability and use of medicinal mushrooms.
Chinese ‘Mushroom therapy’ is called Mycotherapy. This extraordinary practice utilises extracts from medicinal mushrooms to harmonise and empower the immune system.
Certain compounds found within these super foods, known as beta-glucans, have been scientifically proven to offer invaluable support to both body and mind. These compounds that bind to white blood cells and rally them to seek out and destroy pathogens. These mushroom-derived beta-glucans activate and fortify your body’s natural defense cells, the B-cells and T-cells, resulting in a robust immune system.
Mycotherapy isn’t just about beta-glucans; it also brings a treasure trove of essential minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, and triterpenes (a class of chemical compounds found naturally in plants). The world of medicinal mushrooms is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.
Beta-glucans can help normalise an overactive immune system, which is often the root cause of allergies and various autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and psoriasis.
Furthermore, research suggests that beta-glucans can positively impact cholesterol levels, indirectly benefiting conditions like high blood pressure and overall cardiovascular health.
Using the Power of Nature and Ancient Chinese Wisdom
By incorporating medicinal mushrooms into your daily routine for a few months, you can restore homeostasis (self-regulating process by which an organism tends to maintain stability) within your body. Many studies illuminate the remarkable health benefits these fungi can offer; they work their magic on your immune system.
For example, the mushroom Reishi (or Lingzhi), is called the mushroom of immortality; it boosts the immunity system of people, but also the bees! A researcher of Japan discovered around 1990 that Reishi stimulates nerves to regrow, as an effective treatment to recover from Alzheimer’s.
It’s the key to achieving optimal well-being. So, harness the transformative potential of medicinal mushrooms and empower your health journey.
The medicinal mushrooms tinctures we work with:

– Mycomix full spectrum: blend of Reishi, Lions Mane, Shitake, Turkey Tail & Chaga
Origin and process
50 ml of mushroom tinctures are slowly boiled, double extracted in water for a full range of medicinal compounds and after mixed with alcohol (40%). The water used is coming directly from a natural water source in Central Portugal. The tinctures come in an amber glass bottle with a dropper.

I am proud to say that all the wild mushrooms used for the tinctures are organic and hand picked by Tristan from the forest in Central Portugal. Only the Lion’s Mane is grown in-house. This means that the process is also in Portugal.
Tristan is a wild mushroom foraging teacher and organic regenerative farmer living in Central Portugal. He is also involved with the medicinal mushroom conference in the UK, where he has attended several conferences, and been also invited as a speaker.
